The time is now for Caroline Rose. Their last record, Superstar, was released on March 6, 2020. The record was critically acclaimed and positioned Rose as the next big breakthrough in music. Needless to say, the resulting pandemic grinded all momentum to a halt while at the same time throwing Rose�s personal life into turmoil. The result of that turmoil is the fuel that fired the creation of their latest album, The Art of Forgetting. With The Art of Forgetting, Rose took on the dual role of writer and producer. The album encapsulates the feeling of experiencing recent memories, having them turn into old ones and then ultimately forgetting those memories altogether. There is a romantic nature within the sonic landscape of this record. Tape effects and loops emulate the feeling of aging while the juxtaposition of modern acoustic-electronic textures, like lo-fi tape next to hi-fi granular synths result in some of their most mature and honest work to date.

Last year BABYMETAL were �sealed� from the world after a successful 10-year journey. Earlier this year, THE OTHER ONE restoration project began to recover the BABYMETAL we never knew existed within a virtual world called the METALVERSE. The concept album releasing March 24, 2023 reveals the other side of the BABYMETAL story that no one knew existed. A total of 10 songs have been discovered within THE OTHER ONE restoration project, in which each song represents each theme of the 10 parallel worlds that seem to exist. Full length audio of each of the 10 songs will finally be revealed when fans get their hands on the album.

If credibility were currency, FAKE NAMES� wealth would be off the�charts. Composed of Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Bad Religion, Dag Nasty), Michael Hampton (S.O.A., Embrace), Dennis Lyxz�n (Refused, INVSN,�The [International] Noise Conspiracy), Johnny Temple (Girls Against�Boys, Soulside) and the newest member Brendan Canty (Fugazi, Rites of�Spring), the band is a veritable post-hardcore dream team.

However instead of rehashing the past, Expendables is a reinvention�that sees the band dialing back the distortion and leaning into the�melodies. The result pairs their unparalleled pedigree with a pop�sensibility that�s slightly unexpected and wholly satisfying. �For our
last record [2019�s FAKE NAMES]the general influences were 70�s U.K.�punk and power-pop; but it wound up with a little classic rock vibe as�well, like the Vibrators meets Aerosmith. We never saw that coming!� ,�Baker explains.

For Expendables the band enlisted producer Adam �Atom� Greenspan (IDLES, Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Baker explains, �The pop influences are a�little more out front on this one and the production really helps it shine. It sounds more direct, more urgent.��Expendables is the latest exchange in a musical conversation that spans four decades. Baker aptly refers to the lineup of FAKE NAMES�as a �mutual admiration society� and says that once the five members got in the same room together, it felt as if they had already been in�the band together for years.

Dear Reader,�About a year or two ago, Naomi Yang (of Galaxie 500) reached out to me�after she rediscovered a video that we had made together in 2011, during the�making of Tramp, just before the album�s release. It was for the song Serpents.�The timing was uncanny, approaching the anniversary of Tramp. Thinking�about my time in New York while in the bubble of Los Angeles and my�home. Thinking about how restless I was, and now settled down and stable.�Thinking about how Aaron Dessner took a chance on me after I messaged�him with a fury of demos. He could see through the hiss and crappy vocals�on my GarageBand demos, and that I had something to say. He gave me the�confidence to be loud and to scream my rage and feel founded and justified�in my own pain. He gave me more tools to find catharsis in my work. I have�carried that with me ever since.�

Being on the west coast the last two years, I look back on my community�in New York and am forever grateful. I had so many friends and peers step�up and help me unfold these demos. The album that it became. A song about not believing how good I had it,�like the other shoe was about to drop. I hope everyone that helped make this�record and supported it, feel the love and admiration that I continue to hold�for all of you. I hope that in sharing this record again, with a new video and�this forgotten track, that new listeners are brought into this album and find�meaning and relevance in it today. All of the musicians on this album helped�me�come to life and perform in ways I never had before.�

During the 1980 spring/summer tour, Frank Zappa played a set at his favorite NYC nightclub - the famous Mudd Club. Zappa adored the place and ever wrote a song dedicated to it. The complete performance is included on two 45rpm 180-gram vinyl LPs and mastered by Bernie Grundman in 2022. The package features photography and memoir from George Alper (who worked for Frank Zappa and was at the event), along with liner notes from Arthur Barrow, Steve Vai and `Vaultmeister' Joe Travers.

Puscifer - Existential Reckoning Re-Wired (INDIE EX)

�I felt a Funeral, in my Brain� is a rare duet in Andrew Bird�s deep discography. He and Phoebe Bridgers join forces to share a haunting reimagination of the Emily Dickinson poem, �I felt a Funeral, in my Brain.� Sparse and spectral, the arrangement pairs chilling, swelling shrieks of strings with the slight strum of guitar, as Bird and Bridgers trade verses and soar in harmony over Dickinson�s words. And paired with a B-Side rarity, "The Twistable, Turnable Man Returns", Andrew's tribute to the Shel Silverstein poem.

In a time when the popular choice is to chase the double yellow line down the road to country radio, Boy Named Banjo thrives on its fringes. The Nashville-raised five-piece is a fusion of contemporary country, Americana and folk-rock stacked on a foundation of bluegrass. The band, which has been together in some iteration since members were in high school, includes Barton Davies (banjo), Ford Garrard (bass/standing bass), Sam McCullough (drums) Willard Logan (mandolin, acoustic/electric guitar) and William Reames (acoustic guitar/harmonica). Reames and Logan played in a middle school garage rock band together, but it wasn't until Reames met Davies in high school that Boy Named Banjo started taking shape. Garrard and McCullough joined later and together the five guys comprise the band Boy Named Banjo that we know today. Boy Named Banjo has crafted a sound that incorporates an energetic blend of country, bluegrass, alt-rock, and folk-pop telling their stories through an honest, emotional, roots-driven perspective. In April 2020, Boy Named Banjo signed a record deal with Mercury Records Nashville and released their debut EP, Circles, the following year. KISS's fifth authorized Soundboard live release is from the November 28, 1984 Animalize Tour show from the Mid-Hudson Civic Arena in Poughkeepsie, NY featuring the only known soundboard recording with Mark St. John. "Young And Wasted" and "Rock And Roll All Nite" are unfortunately incomplete recordings but due to the historical importance of this show with Mark we hope you all rock out to this as hard as we have. A Wednesday song is a quilt. A short story collection, a half-memory,�a patchwork of portraits of the American south, disparate moments�that somehow make sense as a whole. Karly Hartzman, the songwriter/vocalist/guitarist at the helm of the project, is a story collector as�much as she is a storyteller: a scholar of people and one-liners. Rat�Saw God, the Asheville quintet�s new and best record, is ekphrastic but�autobiographical and above all, deeply empathetic. Across the album�s ten�tracks Hartzman, guitarist MJ Lenderman, bassist Margo Shultz, drummer�Alan Miller, and lap/pedal steel player Xandy Chelmis build a shrine to�minutiae. Half-funny, half-tragic dispatches from North Carolina unfurling�somewhere between the wailing skuzz of Nineties shoegaze and classic�country twang, that distorted lap steel and Hartzman�s voice slicing�through the din.

Rat Saw God is an album about riding a bike down a suburban stretch�in Greensboro while listening to My Bloody Valentine for the first time on�an iPod Nano, past a creek that runs through the neighborhood riddled�with broken glass bottles and condoms, a front yard filled with broken�and rusted car parts, a lonely and dilapidated house reclaimed by kudzu.�Four Lokos and rodeo clowns and a kid who burns down a corn field.�Roadside monuments, church marquees, poppers and vodka in a plastic�water bottle, the shit you get away with at Jewish summer camp, strange�sentimental family heirlooms at the thrift stores. The way the South hums�alive all night in the summers and into fall, the sound of high school�football games, the halo effect from the lights polluting the darkness. It�s�not really bright enough to see in front of you, but in that stretch of inky�void � somehow � you see everything.

The songs on Rat Saw God don�t recount epics, just the everyday.�They�re true, they�re real life, blurry and chaotic and strange � which is�in-line with Hartzman�s own ethos: �Everyone�s story is worthy,� she says,�plainly. �Literally every life story is worth writing down, because people�are so fascinating.�

For nearly five decades, Dungeons & Dragons has inspired generations of creative people to make movies, novels and, yes, music. Now that relationship is even more distinct with the release today of an album of music created by cutting-edge bands and musical acts all inspired by Spelljammer: Adventures in Space. The far-out storytelling in the world�s greatest roleplaying game�s latest offering is fertile ground for composing some of the most original songs you�ll hear this year from bands like Magic Sword, Shabazz Palaces and OSEES. Spelljams features a double LP�s worth of tracks from artists all produced by Chris Funk, guitarist from The Decemberists who plays D&D with many folks in the music scene in Portland, Oregon. Chris Perkins, story architect at D&D and lead designer of Spelljammer, worked with Funk to bring the Flash Gordon-esque soundtrack to life.

Produced by Sean Ono Lennon and mixed by Dave Fridmann (Beach House, Spoon, The Flaming Lips) , Temples fourth full-length album takes place in an impossibly utopic island dreamed up by the four band members. But within that wisdom�comes the realization that there is no finish line, no destination or static�end point to life while you�re living it, and Forever Means collects songs�from the Big Time sessions that hold this common theme. They are, in�Olsen�s words, �in search of something else.�

�I was somewhere traveling,� says Olsen, �stopped for a few days and�wandering the city, and I was thinking �what does �forever� really mean?�What are the things I�m seeking in friendship or love, and how can��forever� be attainable if we�re always changing?�� Sitting with the reality�of that entropy, Olsen realized �maybe the secret to ongoing love is to�embrace change as part of love itself, that forever must have something�to do with playing, looking, constantly searching things out for yourself,�never letting yourself think you�re finished learning or exploring.�

Kristian Matsson has never remained in one place for very long. Having spent much of the�last decade touring around the world as The Tallest Man on Earth, Matsson has captivated�audiences using, as The New York Times describes, �every inch of his long guitar cord to�roam the stage: darting around, crouching, stretching, hip-twitching, perching briefly and�jittering away...Mr. Matsson is a guitar-slinger rooted in folk, and his songs are troubadour�ballads at heart.�

Fans who were lucky enough to catch his historic debut�trek, dubbed �The Memphis Horns Tour,� were treated to the balladeer, the raving troubadour, the�acoustic bluesman, the soul driver, and by far the most passionate music maker offering his goods across�the better auditoriums and arenas that summer.��

This previously unissued live album, with performances hand-picked by Stills from his personal archives,�was recorded on August 20 and 21, 1971 at The Berkeley Community Theater. This 3,500-seat venue�made this one of the most unique and intimate stops on the tour that included his iconic concert at New�York�s Madison Square Garden. In many ways, these Northern California shows in Berkeley sound as if�Stills is leaving it all on the stage during a hometown gig.�

In addition to The Memphis Horns, Stills is backed by a loyal cast of friends, including his usual steady�rhythm section�drummer Dallas Taylor and bassist Calvin �Fuzzy� Samuels�along with keyboardist�Paul Harris, guitarist Steve Fromholz, and percussionist Joe Lala. Logan Halstead will release his anticipated debut album, Dark Black Coal, May 5 via Thirty Tigers.

Age is a number, and Logan Halstead constantly reminds us of that. At just 15 years old, he wrote his first song, "Dark Black Coal", a powerful and haunting song about life for many of the people where he is from who had to work in the coal mines of southern West Virginia. Logan Halstead, 18 years old, is a country/folk/americana singer-songwriter who grew up in Comfort, WV. Logan pulls most of his music from the struggle and hardship of his life and those around him. Small-town living isn't intensely stimulating socially or economically, but spiritually there is always a yearning for more.

Being from WV and KY, it's no surprise that Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson influence him, but he has also found a lot of inspiration from Nicholas Jamerson and Cole Chaney. "All these folks mentioned have laid a path and shown that it's okay to be from these parts; we're not so looked down on anymore..." says Logan. It's given him the ability to be proud of who he is and has led him to be a driving force in the scene of young artists from the Appalachian region.�

Logan doesn't like to put himself in a box sonically or stylistically. Still, many would adorn it as Appalachian/Americana music. Above all, it is raw and honest, and the writing wrapped in wisdom one might only think someone two decades older than could conjure. While the masses clamored for more content, Halstead took his time and found the right partners for his debut album. He decided to cut his project at the famous Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, TN. He was accompanied by the one and only Lawrence Rothman (Amanda Shires, Margo Price, Angel Olson, and many more). When asked about the recording process, Logan said, "It was a great experience; Lawrence is top-notch. They made me feel comfortable just to go in and do what I do, and to get to record in a place like that is a dream come true, especially for a holler kid". Lawrence, who saw success at a very young age, was a perfect fit because they understood Logan's position and angst and allowed Logan to express himself freely.

In 2020 Logan released "Dark Black Coal" on Youtube, which has since amassed almost 6 million views. The success of that single has allowed Logan to build a great fan base through YouTube, touring, and opening for folks like Zach Bryan, Charles Wesley Godwin, Town Mountain, and many more. With the record's release over a year after he created the album, Our Vinyl came into his life at the perfect time. Halstead released a taste of his upcoming project, and with that four-song EP, Logan gained over 120,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.�

With the success of "Dark Black Coal" it's no surprise that it became the title for his first album. He signed with Thirty Tigers and is excited to partner with them on his release. The release date is slated for May 5th, and he will be touring those songs throughout May. Expect to see his name on festival billings, support tours, and in a town near you. "I want my music to keep evolving and improve my craft. I want to be the best I can be and give my fans shows to remember" says Halstead. Over 3 decades ago, Peter One was a STAR. A country music star, in West Africa. With his singing partner Jess Sah Bi, Peter played to sold out arenas. In 1985, Our Garden Needs Its Flowers, launched the two Ivory Coast musicians into regional stardom across greater West Africa. Now solo, Peter One ultimately decided to emigrate to the US to further his music career. Come Back to Me features songs in English, French and his native African language.�

Moby�s second album on Deutsche Grammophon following 2021�s Reprise. Digging further into his catalog, Moby has reimagined fifteen of some if his most iconic tracks for his new album, Resound NYC. It�s been a time of intense, worldwide change over the past few years� or maybe it all depends on scale. Zooming out to a geological timeline, maybe not much has changed at all. On his sixth album Wilderness Within You, acclaimed singer/songwriter Parker Millsap explores this flux between the here and now and the big BIG picture, while reckoning with questions about humanity�s place on this planet. The second half of Wilderness turns darker and moodier with the industrial, buzz-saw �Half a World Away,� which finds Millsap questioning �who murders for my meat? who gets it here from there?� At the other end of the sonic spectrum is the beautiful, roots-y title track, a duet with the legendary Gillian Welch. The track illustrates Millsap�s understanding of nature as something that humans are not separate from - that life is stunningly beautiful most of the time, but does contain streaks of darkness that are just as natural: �There�s a field that�s full of violets, there�s a bruise that�s purple brown / There�s a little bit of violence, and a lot of fertile ground.�

In a broader sense, Wilderness Within You poses many weighty questions without easy answers. While Millsap can feel deeply discouraged by the way things are going wrong in the world, especially with the climate crisis, Wilderness Within You is threaded with hope and thankfulness for all we do have. This idea is beautifully etched on �Magic,� an anthem about the power of paying attention � a torch song perfect for listeners to join in and belt along to.

�I really do want people to feel the magic,� Millsap said, echoing lyrics from the song. �It�s out there.�

Dave Matthews Band�s 10^th�studio album, Walk Around the Moon,�took shape during the pandemic and is as much a reflection on the current times as it is an urge to find common ground.�Walk Around the Moon�will be released to coincide with the start of the band�s 2023 summer tour. �

On the heels of his newest single release �Forget Me,� Lewis Capaldi returns with his sophomore album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent.

Completing their seventh studio album was a hard-won victory for The Milk Carton Kids, but I Only See the Moon was worth the effort for Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan. �It feels like returning to something that�s natural and comfortable, and also just as inspiring and new as when we first met,� says Pattengale, who formed The Milk Carton Kids with Ryan in 2011.

What started as a three-week recording session in the fall of 2021, with Pattengale producing the contemporary folk duo himself for the first time, stretched into a monthslong project that found the pair digging deeper into their craft than ever before. With a new studio of their own in Los Angeles and the realization that they were in no hurry, The Milk Carton Kids took the time they needed to be fully satisfied with I Only See the Moon.

�I haven�t been as happy with the collection of songs that we�ve put on record probably since our first record, and it�s because of a lot of the lessons we�ve learned over the years, including giving yourself time and space,� Ryan says.The three-time Grammy nominees sound refreshed on 10 new songs distilled to the essence of The Milk Carton Kids: two voices blended together in spellbinding harmony, accompanied by subtly perfect acoustic instrumentation. Turns out that�s a tough sound to get just right, but I Only See the Moon shows just how much Pattengale and Ryan were willing to work for it.�

Arlo Parks sophomore album, My Soft Machine, is a deeply personal body of work; a narration of Parks' experiences as she navigates her 20's and the growth intertwined. It follows her highly-praised debut album, Collapsed in Sunbeams, which received two GRAMMY nominations for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album, won the BRIT Award for Best New Artist, received the Honda Mercury Prize, won the BBC Introducing Artist Of The Year Award, was nominated for Breakthrough International Act at the BET Awards and reached the top 3 on the UK Album Charts. Parks shares about how the new album and album title came to fruition: "The world/our view of it is peppered by the biggest things we experience - our traumas, upbringing, vulnerabilities almost like visual snow. This record is life through my lens, through my body - the mid 20s anxiety, the substance abuse of friends around me, the viscera of being in love for the first time, navigating PTSD and grief and self-sabotage and joy, moving through worlds with wonder and sensitivity- what it's like to be trapped in this particular body. There is a quote from a Joanna Hogg film called The Souvenir, it's an A24 semi-autobiographical film with Tilda Swinton - it recounts a young film student falling in love with an older, charismatic man then being drawn into his addiction - in an early scene he's explaining why people watch films - 'we don't want to see life as it is played out we want to see life as it is experienced in this soft machine.' So, there we have it... My Soft Machine." The album was recorded between London and Los Angeles throughout 2021/2022. Arlo worked alongside producers including Paul Epworth, Ariel Rechtshaid, Romil Hemnani (Brockhampton), Frank Ocean-collaborator Buddy Ross, and Carter Lang (SZA), whilst also self-producing a run of material on the album. The record features a guest vocal from musician and friend, Phoebe Bridgers.

Phoenix-based indie punk band, AJJ, is back with their 10th studio album, Disposable Everything. After years of cult-like indie success and underground critical acclaim, AJJ has continued to evolve with each album, adding more layers and texture musically, while still maintaining their trademark wit and irreverent lyricism. Not every band can juxtapose apocalyptic despair with the warm comfort of an electric blanket, while hitting fans with rousing punk anthems one minute, and beautiful acoustic balladry the next. On Last Man Dancing, Jake Shears turns his lifelong love affair with club culture into his most ambitious pop music to date. The album was brought to vivid life by Jake Shears and a close crew of collaborators, including head-turning features from Kylie Minogue, Jane Fonda, Iggy Pop, Amber Martin, and a pre-Renaissance turn from the iconic Big Freedia.

Closing Time foreshadows the distinctly lyrical storytelling and original blending of jazz, blues, and folk styles that�would come to be associated with Waits. It is on this debut album that Waits performs enduring classics of his career �Ol� 55� (famously covered by the Eagles), the heartbreaking �Martha� and the gentle acoustic folk of �I Hope�That I Don�t Fall In Love With You�. Reissued for the first time as a double LP to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the landmark debut with newly half speed mastering at Abbey Road Studios.

In March 2020, Jack Johnson reached out to Lee �Scratch" Perry to produce a dub remix album based on Jack�s most loved recordings. On August 29, 2021, the project was brought to a halt as Scratch departed this physical world. In 2022, Jack and Subatomic Sound System, Perry�s band of the last decade, connected directly and discovered they had all the pieces to bring Lee �Scratch� Perry�s three creations to completion. The LP also features dubs from Dennis Bovell, Scientist, Mad Professor, Nightmares on Wax, and more.

Niall Horan's `The Show' - his third solo album and first since 2020's chart-topping `Heartbreak Weather' - will be released on June 9, 2023. Preceded by its lead single "Heaven," the album matches the pure emotion of his globally beloved past work with a powerful new element of soul-searching reflection. Each vinyl copy of `The Show' includes a randomly selected print of a letter handwritten by Niall about a song from the album.

A Jason Isbell record always lands like a decoder ring in the ears and hearts of his audience, a soundtrack to his world and magically to theirs, too. Weathervanes carries the same revelatory power. This is a storyteller at the peak of his craft, observing his fellow wanderers, looking inside and trying to understand, reducing a universe to four minutes. They make a big noise, as Isbell puts it, and he feels so comfortable letting them be a main prism through which much of the world hears his art. He can be private but with them behind him he transforms, and there is a version of himself that can only exist in their presence. When he plays a solo show, he is in charge of the entire complicated juggle. On stage with the 400 Unit, he can be a guitar hero when he wants, and a conductor when he wants, and a smiling fan of the majesty of his bandmates when he wants to hang back and listen to the sound.

Brooklyn bedroom-pop trailblazers Beach Fossils' new album Bunny is a triumphant return for one of the 2010s most influential NYC bands. Bunny is a precise blend of the luscious dream-pop atmospheres they notoriously honed on their earliest projects, the post-punk vigor expressed on Clash The Truth, and the warm sophisticated songwriting of Somersault. Composer Dustin Payseur peppers the album equally�with descriptions of the joy of fatherhood and the existential pleasure of smoking cigarettes out of a car window�with friends --�Bunny features Beach Fossils' most personal lyrics to-date.

Colin McCann didn�t pick up a guitar for nearly ten years. The�Northern-California-based songwriter, previously performing�under Long Dog Bird, had been creating music with longtime�friend and collaborator Brian Gossman for much of their adult�lives with early-00s Baltimore-based band Wilderness. So what�would cause such a stagnant period? And how could McCann�find his way back to the joy that music had once so easily�conjured? The answer was to go back to the very beginning,�where the kinetic forces that urged McCann to make music in�the first place could emerge once again. But first, he had to�make space in his internal world; a kind of silence where he�could hear the exhale of his past, and the blossoming of a new�song.�

That blossoming would soon become the first songs for�McCann�s latest project Vulture Feather. The band�s debut�album�Liminal Fields exists on an intangible plane: a crack in�the concrete, a gauze between worlds. For as long as McCann�can recall, he�s been using music as a vehicle to try and�connect with an underlying, indescribable nature that only the�sonic world seems to be able to reach. �There�s a feeling of�ecstasy that comes when one merges with music,� he says.��It�s what calls us all back again and again to listen, to sing, and�to play.� McCann had been striving to reach this outlying�environment throughout his career, often stretching in ways�that eventually came to negatively impact his life, and his�health.

Since their 2012 debut, Protomartyr have mastered the art of evoking place: the grinding Midwest humility of their hometown, as well as the x-rayed elucidation of America that comes with their vantage. The group�s sixth album was recorded at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, TX with producer Jake Aron. �The desert is more of a metaphor or symbol,� singer Joe Casey says, �of emotional deserts, or a place or time that seems to lack life.� The �growth� came from a period of colossal transition for Casey, including the death of his mother. But life does go on, and Casey describes the great theme of Formal Growth In The Desert as an embrace and acknowledgment of that fact: a 12-song testament to �getting on with life,� even when it feels impossibly hard.

Tommy Prine�s debut album �This Far South'' coming June 23, 2023 is not only a long awaited introduction but a testimony to Prine�s 20�s and the loss, love, and growth that has defined them. Co-produced by close friend and kindred musical spirit, Ruston Kelly, and beloved Nashville engineer and producer, Gena Johnson, the album is rich and dynamic from cathartic jams to nostalgic storytelling.

It wasn�t until Prine reached his mid-twenties, though, that he considered a career of his own in music and began to share with others the songs he wrote in private. His songs were quickly met with excitement and enthusiasm, which sonically brings together a colorful patchwork of musical influences and lyrically explores existential questions and emotional experiences.

The album�s title track, �This Far South'' marks a turning point in Prine�s life as he found himself struggling to escape a dark, aimless period. He ultimately found the courage to act on choices that would see him to the other, brighter, side.

�There were several years where I felt without purpose, spent all my time partying, and just existing. I found myself at a fork in the road and chose the better path, and in that moment, I swore I would never be This Far South again.�

Grief is a major throughline of Prine�s current work.� In 2017, Prine lost his best friend to an overdose.

�Since then, I have lost some more friends and have others who are still navigating the ups and downs of struggles with drug abuse.�

His song, �Letter To My Brother�,� was written as a message to the friends he�s lost, those in Recovery, and to friends who are still struggling.

He still grapples with the passing of his father in April of 2020.� �The world lost one of the greatest songwriters of all time, but I lost my dad.�� Prine bears the loss of his father and the memories he carries for others on the track, �By The Way�.

�When I'm playing certain songs, I can literally look out in the crowd and tell who else has lost their dad,� he says. �I can immediately tell which people have experienced, specifically, losing their father. They'll come up and tell me afterwards, and I'll be like, �Yeah, like, I figured that this conversation was going to happen,� because I could see their reaction. It�s been really powerful to see real-deal evidence that grief is a shared experience, and that suffering is a shared experience between humans.�

Prine capped off 2022 with his first solo tour across the United States. He was heavily involved with You Got Gold, an event series in Nashville honoring the life and songs of John Prine, and performed at AmericanaFest as an official showcasing artist.� He also debuted two original songs, �Ships in the Harbor� and �Turning Stones�.

�Ships in the Harbor� is a tender meditation on impermanence and change, with Prine communicating the universal experience of loss through poetic observations of the seemingly mundane.� The song found its way onto a series of editorial playlists including Spotify�s Fresh Folk playlist and Amazon�s Fresh Folk & Ameriana playlist.� It was also praised by a number of outlets including Billboard, Garden & Gun, and Saving Country Music who wrote, �With one song, Tommy Prine has already accomplished what many musicians and songwriters work their entire careers to accomplish, which is to make such an indelible emotional connection with an audience.�

This year, alongside his own runs of headline shows, Prine opened for Tyler Childer on his �Send In The Hounds Tour� in London.� He was also named one of Amazon Music�s 2023 Breakthrough Artists to Watch.

�I feel like I've learned more about myself in the last year and a half than I ever have in my life,� Prine says. �And I think that speaks a lot to doing something that I'm passionate about. I love and respect the craft. Just hitting the road and doing what so many people before me have done and will continue to do, it's really resonated with me. I think it's transformed me into the person that I am meant to be.�

RSD Essential 039 * The Avett Brothers' 2007 release "Emotionalism" is the album that caught the attention of legendary producer Rick Rubin and got him to sign the band to their first major studio. "Emotionalism" also was their first album to crack the charts. Full of new Folk, Blues and Bluegrass riffs for a modern world, it is a lively take on everything from romance to paranoia. Of course, they still kick in some solid Rock 'N' Roll for good measure.

Solid Gold, the long-awaited solo debut album from acclaimed musician Miles Miller will be released July 7 via Thirty Tigers.

Produced by Sturgill Simpson, the album features twelve original songs and marks the first body of work released by Miller as a solo artist. The album was recorded over the course of three days in January 2022 in Nashville, TN.

Of the album, Miller shares, �Solid Gold is a love story, but about love being around and love leaving. It�s an entire story essentially about wanting to get back to the love you have, realizing you shouldn�t give it away, to love leaving, hitting the road because of it leaving, feeling love on the road, love from home, to realizing you need to keep walking and wish them well. It�s an album about the cycle of a love story that crumbles.�

Raised in central Kentucky, Miller has spent the better part of the past decade on the road as a drummer for artists including Sturgill Simpson and Town Mountain. In 2009, he was discovered by acclaimed producer Dave Cobb after playing drum covers on YouTube at the age of 16. While drumming and vocals are what he has been most noted for, playing guitar is his first love.

Spending time off of the road allowed him to hone in on his songwriting and it became clear that the time had come to step away from the drum kit and focus on his own artistic vision. This June, Miller will embark on a handful of dates supporting Tyler Childers. Additional tour dates to be announced.
